The Coronavirus (COVID-19) - What We Are Doing and What You Need to Know

Covid 19 office protocolsDear Valued Patient: We Are Open!

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our nation has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety and general health.

Infection control has always been a top priority for Michael Bublik, MD and the staff at Southern California ENT and Allergy Associates. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care; it is both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we have been following since the beginning of the pandemic. We have had these safety protocols in place since the beginning of the pandemic and have remained open to serve patients and avoid unnecessary ER visits.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued and train our staff immediately. These changes and stringent procedures have been put in place in our practice:

You will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff:

  • Screening of all patients: We are carefully obtaining a recent history from all scheduled patients to determine any possible risk of exposure to COVID-19. All patients with risk of possible exposure will be rescheduled. Once a patient arrives at the office, their temperature will be taken with an infrared thermometer. Any patients with elevated temperatures will be rescheduled for a later date.
  • Masks: Please wear your mask/non surgical face covering to your appointment. Masks must be worn inside our office.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Dr. Bublik and his staff will wear PPE at all times. This will include N95 (or equivalent) masks, a medical-grade plexiglass face shield, and gloves.
  • Rigorous hand washing and sanitizing: Throughout the day, all staff will continually wash and sterilize their hands. We have no-touch hand sanitizer dispensers that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
  • Sterilization and disinfecting: The entire office will be continually disinfected throughout the day. After every patient encounter, exam rooms will be cleaned and disinfected thoroughly. Hospital-grade disinfectant will be utilized.
  • Distancing within the office: We have modified procedures, and have temporarily reduced the number of patients scheduled, to ensure that no two patients will interact in the office. We ask that only patients being treated attend the appointment unless you need to accompany a minor or someone that needs assistance.

We at Michael Bublik, MD and the staff at Southern California ENT and Allergy Associates, have been eagerly waiting for your return and are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the steps we take to keep you and every individual entering our doors, healthy and safe. To schedule your next visit, please call our office at 818-649-1433 or request your appointment online.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.

Michael Bublik, M.D
