Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes – features that make you look older and more tired than you feel, and may even interfere with your vision. In certain families, aging eyelids are hereditary, characterized by excess upper eyelid skin and bulging bags under the eyes. This may present itself as early as the late teens to early twenties. In some patients, the overhanging skin in the upper eyelid is so severe that it can obstruct vision. In these patients, eyelid surgery may be reimbursable by insurance. Blepharoplasty can be performed as a procedure by itself or simultaneously with other necessary procedures: A forehead lift to correct a drooping brow and smooth the forehead, skin resurfacing to removed wrinkles and sun damaged skin, or Botox / Dysport for the fine lines, such as those in the crow’s feet area. Some patients present with dark circles under the eyes and are excellent candidates for a filler placed into the tear trough.

Dr. Bublik has extensive experience in the reconstruction of MOHS surgical defects. He trained with the leaders in the field of cancer reconstruction and subsequently relayed his knowledge by teaching residents and medical students this difficult technique. Dr. Bublik performs most of these procedures in the office setting, but for extensive defects or based on patient preference / comfort, he may take the patient to the operating room for the repair using only board certified Anesthesiologists.
