Restylane is a Hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that diminishes as we age resulting in the formation of wrinkles and loss of volume. 

Restylane is used to correct these changes to provide a more youthful appearance by adding fullness, hydration and elasticity meanwhile providing a numbing effect for comfort as it contains lidocaine.

How long will my filler last?

Results vary on the product used, location and individual patients metabolism 

• Average 6-12 months and up to 18 months

When will I begin to see the results?

You will begin to see the results immediately but we recommend waiting up to 2-4 weeks to allow the filler to fully settle to see the full result.

What side effects do fillers have?

There may be 

• Bruising
• Itching/irritation 
• Redness/swelling
• Minor discomfort

These symptoms start to fade within a few days but bruising can last up to 2 weeks.

What should I AVOID before my filler treatment? 

• Alcohol 24 hours before your treatment 
• Exercising the same day as your treatment
• Blood thinners/Aspirin/NSAIDs, St John’s Wort, Omega 3 fatty acids, Vitamin E, Ginger, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng and other vitamins/supplements that make you more prone to bruising (ideally stop 7 days before but 3 days before is ok as well) 

*** if you are prescribed aspirin or other blood thinning medication, do not discontinue unless permitted by prescribing physician***

What should I AVOID after my filler treatment? 

• Excessive sun and heat 
• Squeezing or massage
• Skincare products that could irritate the skin for 24-48 hours 
• Make-up for 24 hours 
• Facials, waxing, chemical peels, microneedling and photofacials for at least 2 weeks after your filler treatment
• Exercising 24-48 hours to prevent irritation/inflammation
• Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours
